This year is really different from THE Austin Experience in a
couple of ways |
Registration for this year’s Institute is different from last year in Austin. We are a day shorter and have returned to the package pricing for you and your spouse. We have compared the total costs of each Institute and found that we will be offering you PDGs the lowest registration fee. Also, please take note of the chances to partake in home hospitality and local recreational activities sponsored by the Boise Host Committee |
|
The Institute training will begin with Bonding dinners for the Governor classes of 2009-2010 & 2010-2011 |
The 2009-10 & 2010-11 governors and their spouses will leave the hotel approximately 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, and go by private vehicles to a local restaurant for dinner. Please time your arrival so you will be at the hotel by 5:00 pm. Suggested dress for the evening is coat and tie. |
|
Training classes will begin Wednesday, October 1, and go through Thursday afternoon, October 2. |
Talee Crowe is Training Chair and will work with Bill Pettus and Pat Derr in the GETS. Mike & Judy Tormey and Rich and Amy Churchman will chair the spouses training sessions. DGNs and their spouses will attend classes together. Discussion leaders for DGNs are Diane Knight and Jim Berg. Suggested dress for the training classes is business casual. |
|

Friday night |
Friday night will be our off-premises grand event. We will go by bus to a street in downtown Boise for a Basque evening. Yes, they will block off a street for our party. Dinner and entertainment will be provided by the local Basque community (which is the largest outside of Spain). This is your chance to learn a little and enjoy their wonderful hospitality! Casual wear is appropriate to enjoy the evening! Oh Yes, because of the shorter Institute, we will integrate our reunion activities into this evening’s activities. |
|
Rotary Institute |
The Institute Program will be held Friday, October 3, and go through 10 am Sunday, October 5. Chairs Geri Appel and Jon Eiche together with RRFC Noel Bajat are planning a great program for you with some very dynamic speakers. |
|
All-City Luncheon |
We will be going off site to the Boise State University campus for the all-city luncheon on Friday at noon with the RI President-elect as our speaker. Yes, you have an opportunity to pass by and see the blue turf. Sorry, Oklahoma fans. |

The Governors’ presentation will be Saturday evening. Tuxes and pretty dresses are in order! Suggested dress is black tie. Let’s put our best foot forward to welcome the 2009-2010 class of Governors and their spouses! The RI President-elect will welcome his Governors. |

Sunday oCTOBER 5 Inspirational Morning Yes, this is brand new so plan to stay for it |
The program is not over...stay for Sunday morning. We will start early with an entirely new format that will integrate our Celebration of Life into an “Inspirational Morning” to send everyone home on a Rotary High!
For the "Celebration of Life" portion, please notify Jim Freeman jramfreeman@cox.net if your District has lost one of our Past Governors (or PDG spouses) during this past year. This is our chance to honor their good deeds. |
